Not Me My Husband Monday!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else* have not been doing this week.

*Or in this case, our husbands. :)

It's been a while since I've done a Not Me Monday post, hasn't it? I usually don't have time in my week to be witty and keep up with everything else going on, but I just couldn't pass this one up. It's not about me. It's not about my kids. It's about THIS man right here:

Nice hair, don't ya think? Although I think it makes him look a bit pale here. Needs Photoshop touch ups, but I just don't have time anymore!

Anyway, without further ado...

Not Me My Husband Monday!

Seth, my husband of nearly six years, frequently has us in stitches without even really trying. Maybe that is what makes it so funny? Here are a few Sethisms. Some recent, some from a while ago. All funny.

* A few Summers ago, he rode his bike to work to save gas. He parked it in the bicycle rack downtown near his building without locking it up. When he returned at the end of the day, his bike was not gone. As in not stolen. He did not call me and I did not say, "Well, did you lock it up?" His reply:
"Well, no! It was parked right out in the open. Buildings with tons of windows all around it. Who would steal it with all those people watching?" It did not take me a minute to reply. I was not at a loss for words at his logic. I guess he forgot to put a sign on the bike stating it was his? :)

* Another time, we were looking in the local swap n shop ads for a kitchen table and chairs. We saw one, but didn't recognize the first 3 digits of the phone numbers listed in the ad and we didn't want to drive too far out of town. Seth decided to call the number and inquire. When the person on the other end of the line answered, "Hello?", my dear husband did not simply begin the conversation with, "Hi. Where do you live?" (and the person at the other end of the line most certainly did not answer him with the name of the town!)

* When visiting my sister in the next state over, we were getting in the car to drive somewhere, and my father was standing over by the kids on my sister's cement slab in her yard(which will someday soon be their garage floor). My dad (aka "Bumpa" to the grandkids) did not trip over some toy the kids had left sitting around, nearly falling over. My husband did not blurt out without thinking, "Oh no! Bumpa took a dump!" (He did not really mean "digger" and the boys did not find this so hilarious that they still giggle about it to this day!)

*Disclaimer:
No husbands were harmed in the making of this post. Hopefully no marriages, either! :) I love you, Honey! xoxo

Not Me! Monday

Hey, it's Monday! Time to share our Not Me! Stories... Please head over to MckMama's to read everyone else's, and play along. You'll feel so much better after you do. :)

Alrighty. Let's get to it...

This week, I did not go nuts cleaning my house with disinfectant spray and cleaners to make sure all the yucky germs from the past weeks' sicknesses were wiped out. Seriously, is it Spring yet?

I do not have a ginormous case of Spring Fever.

I did not let my 3-year-old run around the house half naked a few times this past week, since she is potty training and thinks that anything on her bottom is fair game to pee in.

I have not nearly memorized one of the Cambodian karaoke DVDs we own (even though I do not speak Khmer! No, I really don't!) due to my daughter wanting to watch "the Sing-ging" about 37 times a day.

I have not grown tired of listening to Elmo laugh incessantly like a little red maniac over and over this week.

I have not once mentally kicked myself for buying the Elmo Hot Tomato game for my daughter for her birthday because it was on clearance after Christmas and she likes Elmo... If only I could have foreseen my agony...

I did not spend nearly a half hour in my vehicle reinstalling my daughter's car seat on Friday after her doctor appointment when I learned she was only 18.3 lbs and should definitely not be front facing yet... We were not sitting in the parking lot with my daughter temporarily buckled into her older sister's car seat while I pulled and pressed and knelt on and fought with the seat belt to try to get her seat in properly.

The windows did not steam up, and I did not get any weird looks from curious passersby.

I did not let my son spend all day in his pajamas on Saturday, including him spending two hours outside sledding with only his pajamas under his snowpants, coat, boots, hat, gloves...

...and now, after not attempting for FOUR FREAKIN' HOURS to write this post on a Monday morning (now afternoon), I am not a bit bummed that I likely have ZERO hope of making it to the top 300 of MckMama's Mr. Linky...

And I do not need a nap.

Not Me! Monday

It's Not Me! Monday time!

Hey, if you're new to Not Me! Mondays, head over to MckMama's blog to play along. She created this fun "blog carnival" for all of us to share all of our great and not-so-great moments each week, being "brutally honest" as she puts it... Ah, Mondays. Free therapy and belly laughs. What could be better on a Monday?

This week has not been a week of sickness in our household. Ethan did not get the stomach bug and have to come home from school on Wednesday. He did not puke in the hall at school while tying his shoes. He was better on Thursday but I did not keep him home anyway since he had been sick the night before... However, on Thursday his little cough that he had had for a few days did not suddenly worsen and I could not see the start of a possible full blown cold. (Which for Ethan usually does not mean asthma with it.) Wonderful. So I did not keep him home Friday, too.

I did not ponder when I had my last cold, and I certainly didn't get a little happy when I realized that I can actually take medicine the next time I get one! (No nursing baby = NyQuil here I come!)

I did not wake up with a scratchy throat and congested sinuses this morning and wonder what the heck I had gotten so excited about... sick is sick, and its never fun, medicine or not. Duh.

Kibby did not wake up at 1AM Sunday throwing up in her bed. This was not extra disgusting because she had eaten a bunch of rich chocolate cake at her cousin's birthday party earlier that evening. I was not irritated that she threw up during movie time with the hubby. She did not scream like a panther when hubby had to give her a shower to wash the nasty stuff out of her hair.

I am not praying that Ruby is spared of this yucky bug. (Well, no, that's really not true, I feel terrible typing that! I really am hoping and praying she doesn't get it. She's so tiny, she needs all the calories she can get!)

What did you not do this week? Jump over to MckMama's to find out how to play along!

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Alright, I'm a little embarrassed that I have not posted anything since last Monday's "Not Me's" but oh well. What can I say? I've been spending more time with my kiddos! (Oh, okay... and reading other's blogs instead of writing my own! You got me.)

So here is my list of what I did "not" do this week... No matter what you may have heard! ;)

I did not have a headache this weekend that would not go away no matter how much tylenol or caffeine I ingested. And I was not at all cranky with the kids while said headache did not rage on and on...

I did not contemplate whether I may have lost any weight due to not eating any lunch or dinner that day...

I most certainly did not nearly put chili powder in my 14-month-old's oatmeal this past week. I did not have it in my hand before I realized it was not cinnamon. I absolutely did not chuckle over it as I imagined the look on my daughter's face if I had not caught my mistake in time... that would be something a not-so-very-nice-mom would do. Which I am definitely not.

I did not ask my hubby to get Glazer doughnuts last night with the full intention of giving some to my kids for breakfast today just so I wouldn't have to cook / make anything myself. How lazy do you think I am? Don't answer that!

And... I did NOT leave a dirty diaper - open, no less - on my living room floor all night one night this past week. Yeah. I have no idea how it crawled back out of the trash, opened back up from it's tightly wound-up and taped together self and magically found it's way back to the very spot I had hurriedly changed my daughter the night before... There is no way that could happen in my house!! Gross!

Ah... and now that I have shared my proud mommy moments with all of you, won't you join in? What did you "not" do this week? C'mon, it's great therapy to "confess" all of our not-so-great moments we all have, and to see that we're not alone in our little (or not so little!) imperfections. :) Please head over to MckMama's to play along, and see her complete (and oh-so-easy) rules! :)

Have a super week!

Not Me! Monday

It's Not Me! Monday time! What did you not do this week? Read all about Not Me! Monday at MckMama's, then join in!

This week I did not let my kids watch their favorite movies about 4 times a day... I know that watching that much television is not healthy for their development, especially since they are just 1 & 2 years old!

When doing laundry from my giant laundry pile downstairs this week I did not for a few moments consider just stuffing the outgrown / seldom worn / seasonally inappropriate clothing into a plastic tub and snapping a lid on it and hiding it in the spare room just so I could feel like I accomplished something...

I am not thinking this same thought again right now... hmmm.....

I also did not nearly let out a huge whoop of joy and dance a little jig when I finally found my regular (NON-NURSING) bras this week. After all, my daughter has been weaned for 2 months now and I most certainly had not still been wearing my raggedy nursing bras pointlessly all this time...

I did not find myself singing songs from my kids' shows / movies throughout the week, even when away from my house. That would be silly... I take time to listen to my own style of music and of course get my own music stuck in my head...

I am not, not, NOT in Survivor withdrawal... nope, not a bit. I have a life, thankyouverymuch!

I have not lived mainly on spring rolls, chips and salsa and chocolate this past week... I always eat a healthy variety of food. (Because what "Not Me" post of mine would be complete without a mention of chocolate, fudge, or some other sad, sorry indulgence...)

I have not given in to my husband's strange way of preventing my girls from sucking their thumbs by allowing him to put socks on their hands nearly 24/7... that would be absurd, and certainly raise some eyebrows... Wouldn't it?

Not Me Monday!

It's Not Me Monday time! :) Visit MckMama's to read all about how to join in, and then spend the day reading some funny funny stuff!
This week:
I did not consider taking notes on all the "Not Me"-worthy-moments so I would not forget them when I am frantically trying to type them up quickly on a Monday morning after getting home from work and before my son has to get on the bus.
I have not almost forgotten to wake up my son for school a couple of times because I was busy writing my Not Me's! That would be waaaaay too irresponsible!!
I did not at all regret telling my family that we would all camp out in the living room on Saturday night. I did not want to shred the kids' elephant tent about 374 times that evening because the kids did not knock the thing over on it's side about a dozen times and they did not fight over who got to go in or out, and then of course certainly did not fight about what was or wasn't allowed inside... oh my head still hurts...
I was not at all glad that Friday was a snow day and Ethan got to stay home. And if I were, it would not have been because I had another helper with the girls... no, it would have been because I could spend some more quality time with my son, naturally.
I have not procrastinated on any of the following, no matter what you may hear:
*Christmas baking. Yes, Santa will have cookies. Or at least cookie dough. Or at least a handful of chocolate chips.
*Hanging up the last of the Christmas decorations. This would include the crocheted snowflakes for my tree, some garland that goes who-knows-where, and the Christmas stockings. Of course everything is in it's place and ready for Christmas day!
*Christmas cards. Oh who am I kidding? I never get around to sending them!
*Wrapping gifts.
*Shopping for those last 2 gifts I need to get.
*Laundry. oh wait, that's every week. Cuz I'm always on top of that...
And now, I am certainly not going to eat more fudge, even though I ate nearly a half a pan yesterday by myself. Oh, wait, no, I did not, that's right...
What did you not do this week? ;)

Not Me Monday!

Hooray for Mondays... well, hooray for Not Me Monday, at least. Read mine, write some of your own, and don't forget to hop over to MckMama's to read everyone else's too! :)

This week I did not contemplate, at least once a day, my sanity for living in the cold cold north. The weather here is lovely and shivering is my specialilty anyway, right?

Speaking of shivering, while we were backing out of our driveway on our way to church yesterday and the temps were hovering around 40, our son did not say, "Hey! I don't even need to shiver!! ...And it's Winter!!"

Of course I did not wake up to sub-zero temps and a wind-chill advisory this morning, either.

Also, I did not skip breakfast before church yesterday morning, because we all woke up with plenty of time for a leisurely breakfast of eggs and pancakes... of course.

So I absolutely did not scarf down 4 (ok, 5) Glazers donuts yesterday afternoon.
Because donuts are bad for you and I am not a hibernating bear... I know I don't need to store up fat for the winter!

I am certainly not contemplating having another donut. That would be selfish... and gluttonous... and I am definitely neither!

What did you NOT do this week? ;)

Not Me Monday!

It's Not Me Monday time! What did you "not" do this week? To play along and read other's Not Me tales, hop over to MckMama's!

This week I did NOT stress out about missing last week's Not Me Monday and did NOT worry about what to write this week. Nope. Because that would be just silly! Because Not Me Monday is a FUN THING! (It really IS!) :) So of course I did NOT spend hours wondering what to be (ahem) totally honest about...

I also did NOT yell at positively discipline my children 893 times for taking the ornaments off the Christmas tree and pulling the strings off them so they cannot be hung on again... Because my children are NOT the type needing so many reminders. They are angels. ALL the time.

I did NOT just this week learn how to do the strike-through feature on my blog... and was NOT thrilled that MckMama gave all of us MckFriends a nice little lesson in it. Because I am NOT technically-challenged and I was certainly able to figure out that on my own. I'm just smart that way. :)

I did NOT punch in late to work every night this past week. This was NOT due to spending time reading blogs and posting on my own blog. I am great at managing my time and would never be late for something as important as my job!

I do NOT spend too much time online reading blogs. I have NOT neglected my housework this week, and there is NOT a ginormous pile of laundry calling to me from downstairs next to the laundry room door. Unsorted. Un-nice-smelling. Un-able-to-wash-itself. Because that would be gross, right?

We did NOT have pizza for dinner about 4 times in the last week because I was too lazy busy to cook a real meal for my family. Because I am always on top of things and healthy meals are so important to my kids.

So there you have it...

What did you "not" do this week? C'mon, join in! :)

Not Me Monday!

Woo hoo, it's Monday again! Time to post and read lots of other "Not Me Monday" posts. Hop over to MckMama's blog to read more, and enjoy the free therapy! :)
Ok, this past week I did NOT try various recipes in my Crock Pot, and upon preparing NOT to cook a whole chicken, did NOT freak out because while NOT skinning it (gross, glad I decided NOT to do this) I did NOT have a sick, nauseated moment where I did NOT think the little chicken body looked like a tiny, headless human. I almost could NOT put the thing in the pot and turn in on to cook.
So glad I did NOT do that, because who thinks that stuff, anyway? There would have to be something wrong with me if I actually DID think that and DID do that!!!
and...
The chicken was NOT delicious.
And the whole incident did NOT remind me of this post! Ha ha...

Not Me Monday

It's NOT ME MONDAY! :) Head over to MckMama's to read more!

1. This week, prior to our trip to my parent's house (in the next state over) I did NOT put off packing for myself, husband and three children until 2 hours before we were supposed to leave.

2. We did NOT forget to pack the baby's bottle, so I did NOT have to go to the grocery store and buy one at an outrageous price, because that was the only store open at that time of night in their little town.

3. My children were NOT fighting, NOT crabby and whiney, not at all! After all, it is ONLY a 3 and a half hour drive, and they are old enough and mature enough (at 6, 2, and 1 years of age) to keep themselves entertained with NO toys, books or movies for the entire trip (see #1), and since it was dark, NO pretty views out the windows.

4. My 2-year-old daughter did NOT wake up the entire household Saturday night for one whole hour by crying and crying to go home. This was in NO WAY connected to what I wrote about in last week's Not Me Monday post. Nope, not a bit.

5. My same daughter did NOT smear #2 all over herself and her new princess potty seat that I bought specially to use at Nana's house, so she did NOT require a bath, and I did NOT have to spend an hour cleaning Nana's bathroom.

6. I was NOT at all happy to arrive home last night.

7. And I certainly did NOT question my sanity about 742 times over the weekend.
Because, I AM one of those mom's that always has it all together.

Or... NOT?

:D

Not Me Monday!

Ok, this is my very first Not Me Monday post! I've been following MckMama's blog for a while now, but never thought I had anything to add until today. I thought, why NOT give it a try! Here goes!

Today I did NOT paint the nasty thumb-sucking-preventer polish on my 2-year-old's thumb and remain silent when she said, "Ooh, pretty pink nails!" (thinking it was just nail polish.)

Then I absolutely did NOT laugh (discretely) when she exclaimed a few minutes later, "OWWWWWIEEEEEEE!!" while looking completely shocked, staring at her thumb.

I then did NOT feel bad at all as I told her, "Oh yeah, I should tell you NOT to put your thumb in your mouth, Kibby."

Then I certainly did NOT take her picture for my blog!

Because, as my sister does NOT tell me:

I'M NOT A NICE MOM!
